The concept of a hand held drill with a keyed chuck is something that has never occurred to me before. As an incredibly lazy person, I cannot imagine having to keep track of and use a keyed chuck everytime I wanted to switch out a drill bit that would drive me insane. So luckily I don't live in the days of yesteryear when this was a thing. I also never really stopped to think what the clicking noise in the drill was, but it does make sense that it's a ratchet actually tightening the drill bit into place. Every time I’ve been taught how to use a drill, which based on my own poor choice of classes is quite numerous, someone always mentions not to put the drill bit in askew, which is a problem I don't think I have ever run into and really makes me wonder how other people are trying to put in drill bits for the first time.
