Lollapalooza India 2026 Review + Photos: Substance and Style
consequence.net: Lollapalooza India 2026 crashed into Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 24th and 25th, and holy shit, the fourth edition delivered on a level that left me hoarse, sunburnt, and stupidly happy. I rolled up half-doubting after last year’s lineup announcement had everyone in my WhatsApp group rolling eyes — “meh, but we’ll go anyway ” —because Lolla‘s become this unspoken Mumbai ritual. You throw on questionable shorts, cram a playlist onto your phone, herd your mates, and dive in.

I’ve never learned much, or anything, about Lollapalooza anywhere that isn’t in Chicago, but I’ve always been curious about what it looks like in other countries. I thought this article was not only insightful as a first hand account, but really well written. It was really interesting to hear about the difference bringing healthy grass into the Mumbai venue made, and how the previous year’s dry setting was so unpleasant. The impact of discovery of new, local artists with smaller crowds really impressed me. I never thought of smaller numbers at a music festival to be an improvement, but it seems that an intimate feeling can be very beneficial at Lollapalooza. I was disappointed to hear about the struggles with food service, overshadowing of certain artists, and lack of accessibility. It seems like there’s a good framework laid for the future, and a significant impression of care from the organizers, so I hope that trend continues in the future.
