I am so moved by this interview from Opera artist Matt Soibelman. I've never enjoyed any operas personally. Maybe because the fast pace of musicals has already shaped my taste in music productions. I usually fall asleep before I get what a long opera wants to express. Learning about how Matt Soibelman developed as an opera singer from puberty age was astonishing. I couldn't believe how this young age decision and trials has led him to decide on his future career path. Until I see him saying ''they're going to be moved'', I wind up his passion towards opera. I love how he mentions a lot of personal growth as a resident artist in the pittsburgh opera. The whole process of entering a theatrical environment and learn by doing has always being there, and it's just waiting for people to realize how much they have learned through completely one after another projects. Also the fact that this opera is performed in a church which is a perfect place for this to be set, I feel so happy for this to actually happen. That should be the best of this design, to use real live spaces as the perfect stage.
