Steven Bartlett Says Only 7% Nail This Question in His Hiring Test
Business Insider: "The Diary of a CEO" host and entrepreneur Steven Bartlett swears by his scenario-based "Culture Test" in hiring, and says there's one question he loves, but that's rarely answered correctly.
Speaking on the "Hot Smart Rich" podcast, Bartlett said he uses a 35-question test rather than asking about academic grades to determine how people will act in a given situation and identify high-performing employees.

I think I understand why most people aren’t picking the “ask why it takes 6 weeks” option. Our society, specifically in the workplace, is very action and result oriented. Most workplaces are centered around productivity, profit, and efficiency and we are used to taking everything we hear from the “powers that be” suppliers as gospel truth. The merit in the “ask why it takes 6 weeks” option is that it is a collaborative, inquisitive answer that not only seeks completion of the project but also provides information and learning for future projects. I think in theater we are actually pretty good at this - we often emphasize collaborative, creative processes where departments work together to meet tight deadlines. However, this is a good reminder that asking follow up questions is always worth it. Even if it doesn’t give you an answer that makes the current project work, it will likely improve your preparation on the next project.
