So I have very mixed feelings about tech elements being incorporated into worship services. I think on one hand I have the bias of having grown up going to small services that at most might have a microphone for whoever was speaking and guitar to lead in songs. I remember the first time I went to a mega church, my friend had invited me and I was stunned at the lights, speaker setup, and vmd elements. Like it felt more like a concert than a space of worship. I really try not to judge but it definitely threw me off a bit. I think it relates back to the conversation we had in class about what happens when themed commercial entertainment has a religious backing and does that then count as not-for profit. I actually looked it up but the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, which falls under this themed religious entertainment category is actually a non-profit.
