Visit an 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' setting with concept artist Dylan Cole

www.goldderby.com: Like any kid fortunate enough to be of moviegoing age in 1989, Dylan Cole's life was forever changed by a brush with Batman, specifically the Tim Burton version that loomed large in movie theaters throughout that pivotal summer.

I have always heard mixed things about Avatar, but if you look at the Avatar universe from an artist's point of view, I think that it is a beautiful and magical universe. I love the way the colors come together and how they glow. This world that has been created is an amazing and truly out-of-this-world nature. This movie universe makes you think twice about nature and gives you a whole new perspective and appreciation for the nature around you. I really enjoyed reading about the artist's concept for the underwater tree of life in the second movie: Way of Water. His concept was the idea of keeping the idea and theme that all of the trees of life have multiple branches weaving and connecting, which, to me, gives the symbolism of all living things being connected one way or another. I think it is very interesting that the artist commented that even tho the world had to feel magical and out of this world, it still had to have some similarities to the real world, cause the audience needs to relate to the world to care for the planet as if it were our own.

I was introduced to the Avatar franchise by my girlfriend when we first started dating. At first, I honestly thought it was gonna be a weird movie but I actually did quite enjoy it. We then got to see the second movie in theatres when it was released and it definitely matched the quality of the first movie even after such a long time between the two release dates. Lately, I’ve been seeing teaser footage of the new movie and I’m particularly excited for this one as the plot is a little different. Something I really enjoy seeing is the new environment and nature they bring to the movies. The creators design it so well as they make it feel like our earth but then add features that make Pandora feel so unique. Overall, I’m very excited to see what they bring in the new movie, seeing these concepts raise my expectations to how they’ll look in the movie.
