Deep Dive: Milwaukee Master Mechanics Hand Tool Set

Pro Tool Reviews: Many people, myself included, have been waiting for Milwaukee’s Master Mechanics Hand Tool Set with great anticipation. Now that it’s here, I’m taking a deeper dive into what Milwaukee has to offer for mechanics and investigating whether Pros should take them as a serious contender in the mechanics hand tool space.

Honestly simply the idea of an entire hand tool set that is made by one company really caught my eye. I hate have a set of tools and then have another just to get the one size that other other set did not have. So the fact that Milwaukee sells a mechanic level set that is meant to cover all the bases is really cool, and is really appealing for any person in a manual labor line of work. One thing I also struggle with at times is organizing my tools, and this set from Milwaukee dose the organization for you by coming inside of the storage units that hold the tools. I also do love a good large tool chest, but it is nice that this set comes in modular storage containers that would be easier to move than the standard metal tool chest sets. If i had the money, need, and space I would 100% be buying this set and I would get great use out of it.

I've always found it funny that a lot of the major tool brands around these days only focus on power tools. They'll have a few hand tools, sure, but if somebody says DeWalt or Milwaukee, you'll only think of their power tools. I think that Milwaukee will be really successful with launching this line of tools. It seems pretty well designed and it's already carrying the Milwaukee name, which does a lot in the first place. I wonder how mechanics will like the foam inserts. They sound great from an organizational standpoint, but if I had a lot of tools, I would probably just take them out so I can fit more stuff in a drawer. On that note, I was also surprised that all the drawers were the same depth and pretty shallow. It makes it seem like you can't fit any bigger tools like a Milwaukee impact into your tool cart. I was surprised to read that Milwaukee’s going to start being carried on tool trucks. I guess they’re really trying to tap into the mechanic market.
