This show seems really fun and exciting, and I would love to see it. I remember when it opened in New York, I was interested in seeing this show, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it. This show, despite getting three Tony Award nominations (Best Costume Design of a Musical: Gregg Barnes Best, Choreography: Jerry Mitchell, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical: Jasmine Amy Rogers) the show only ran for about 16 weeks, which is much much shorter than this national tour is going to be. Anyway I really hope to be able to see this show this time around, because I saw some videos from the original production, and the costume design for it looked absolutely incredible. There is one scene in particular that some people have the back of a costume in color and the front in black and white, and others have the reverse of that, with the front in color and the back in black and white, and then, as they dance, the color palette of the world shifts from super bright to grayscale.

I am so happy that Boop is getting a chance to tour, since I heard so many positive things about it on social media! I have a feeling that it will do pretty well on tour, especially after the “we could go see Boop?” sound went viral on Tik Tok. I do enjoy musicals that are deeply meaningful, however I also really like upbeat and happy musicals. I always enjoy leaving the theatre in a happy and upbeat mood! Boop seems like it has that effect. All of the production elements look super cool from the photos and videos that I have seen! Jerry Mitchell is one of my favorite directors and choreographers, I absolutely loved his production of The Devil Wears Prada Musical on the West End, so I am sure that this production lives up to that. I have seen the super cool technicolor scene where everyone on stage appears to change from wearing greyscale costumes to fully colorful ones in just a second. I am really intrigued by how they were able to accomplish that.
