This is a really smart innovation that effectively caters to a carpentry need. Routers can be unstable, which sometimes makes them difficult to use or to learn. This router base allows for the router to be stable during use. The inclusion of mounting holes for many kinds of routers, including the most popular ones, is also a great idea. This makes the product more broadly applicable and reduces the chances of someone who would buy and use the product not doing so because their router doesn’t fit the base. When I initially read this article, I had to look up what veneer is because I wasn’t sure. Now that I know, it makes sense how a person who is known for veneer would have had the circumstances that led to the creation of this device. I imagine the precision that is required for detailed veneer is made vastly easier by having a stable router base.
