Amazon Loves AI, Except When Candidates Use It in Job Interviews
Business Insider: Amazon, one of the largest employers in the world, wants to curb this growing trend.
Recent Amazon guidelines shared with internal recruiters at the company say that job applicants can be disqualified from the hiring process if they are found to have used an AI tool during job interviews.

This seems to be hypocritical. I have heard of so many companies that are using AI to sift through job applications. I do agree that interviewing with the assistance of AI is unbecoming and circumvents the intent of an interview. Interviews should be a place for prospective employees to show their honesty and talent, but in recent years, it has begun to feel more like interviews are a test, and each interviewer has a list of acceptable answers, and each person is trying to get closest to what is on the answer key. I think AI can be useful during the job search process to find listings, and potentially formatting resumes, but not in the interview process. Interviews should be a person talking to a person, not a person talking to a computer. I think a simple way to solve this problem is to have in person interviews whenever possible, this would cut out the need for identifying AI assisted answers to questions and just allow for a better conversation flow.
