Tiny wrench multitool gets reborn in a bigger, better and torquier form

newatlas.com: Although there are now a number of multitools that sport tiny adjustable wrenches, the TiSpanner was the first to do so. It's now available in a larger and beefier third-generation incarnation, aptly named the TiSpanner 3.0.

Originally I was reading this article and remarking on the usability of a smaller hand held adjustable wrench but then the more I read and the photos I looked at lead me to believe that the lack of additional tools limited the usability of the tiny wrench. One of the pictures included a picture of the wrench fully clamped down onto a bit in order to impersonate a bit in a less reliable and easily usable fashion. Measuring tools are always helpful at a small length; they can become somewhat unusable and unreliable. In an ever growing industry full of millions of different multi tools each with their own functionalities at over the top prices. This specific tool is $170 for the limited functionality that it provides. I believe it is overpriced and not worth the money. Overall I don't think this tool will be able to be a competitor in the large market of multi tools but I love the idea.

I wonder how much torque was lost to the smaller size of this wrench. By no means am I any sort of torque expert, but from my experience on Stagecraft crew calls, I felt like a lot of the times when I needed the most torque were also when I was putting both of my hands and my full body weight behind the wrench. otherwise, there wasn't much use for that much torque. I wonder about the usability of this tool in the real world, where you might run into torque problems that could not be addressed with this tool. Would you simply also carry around a normal sized wrench to calls? If so, personally I feel like that defeats the whole purpose of creating a smaller and more portable wrench, because you still have to carry around that same size wrench- you just also have to carry around a smaller wrench that has the added issue of being able to get lost much easier.
