I find it very disheartening that the United Kingdom's government has caved to Artificial Intelligence interests in this manner. Not only are they likely going to deprive hundreds of artists (at the very least) of jobs in the future, But this will likely throw away countless important stories that need to be told in favor of regurgitated drivel that likely makes little to no sense, and has little to no nuance, personality, cultural understanding, history, point of view, or a reason to say something. I am not personally someone who thinks that you need all or even most of these in order to be someone that makes art. Sometimes art can just be for yourself, it doesn't need to have a deeper meaning, and it doesn't need to be more than a way to enjoy or express any sort of facet of your being. but we bring a lot of this to the table as artists instinctively, because we are humans who have lived individual lives. if you take away the humanity in art, you also take away the humanity of life.
