'The White Lotus' Season 3 Costumes Are More Over-the-Top Than Ever
www.harpersbazaar.com/culture: Everything is better at The White Lotus—even the clothes. Just ask Alex Bovaird, the show’s costume designer since season one. This isn’t a resort where people roll around in their pajamas. As Boivard explained to her actors this season, The White Lotus is a heightened place where you wear Valentino to the pool and Cartier to breakfast.

This article was really fun to read, especially since I saw the white lotus and wrote a news comment on basically the same topic last week. I really liked how the article dives into the insane level of luxury the show brings to its costumes. It is wild to think about people wearing Cartier to breakfast and changing outfits three times a day just for the vibe. (even though I would do this if I could) I also think it is cool that they mix high fashion with lesser-known brands and even hotel gift shop finds. It makes it feel a little more organic even though everything is still over-the-top rich. The behind-the-scenes details about sourcing outfits and working with designers are interesting, especially the struggle of getting clothes to Thailand. It makes me appreciate how much effort goes into something that most people just see as cool outfits on TV. I also just love Parker Posey she's so funny and I thought it was really cool that she brought in her mom’s jewelry.
