As an aspiring costume designer, I find Atwood’s work to be extremely inspirational. Her designs are so multifaceted and diverse, with no two pieces looking exactly alike and each taking inspiration from vastly different sources. For me, it is very possible to look at a piece and not realize it was created by Atwood because of her incredible range of styles. I love what she says about ‘costuming shaping the public perception of the film’ because it puts into words something that I haven’t known how to express. Truly, the way in which actors are dressed can help determine whether or not somebody goes and watches a film, giving you hints about the plot before you see it. I cannot wait to see Colleen Atwood’s next projects, and just know they will be nothing short of magnificent.
