Diane Warren on Losing Best Original Song Oscar for the 16th Time
variety.com: Despite not going home with a gold statuette for best original song for “Journey” from Netflix’s “The Six Triple Eight,” the prolific songwriter attended the Vanity Fair party in Beverly Hills. The loss marked her 16th time being snubbed for the Academy Award. (“El Mal” from “Emilia Pérez” won on Sunday.)

Diane Warren’s reaction to losing the Oscar again is actually pretty funny but all in all still really disheartening. She’s not letting the 16th loss get her down at all which is very inspiring cause I think it would have gotten to me by the 4th time. Saying she’s "consistent as f---" is honestly a great way to handle it, and it shows she’s got a solid sense of humor about the whole thing. Even though she didn’t win, she’s still out there having fun and clearly not letting it ruin her night. The "Terminator of the Oscars" line is a great way to show she’s not giving up. She’s already back to work the next day, which is pretty impressive. It sucks that the Oscar producers cut the performances of the best original song nominees because those performances are always a highlight. But I like how H.E.R. and Diane both are still positive about it. At the end of the day, the song will live on whether it’s performed at the Oscars or not.
