The headline of this article makes it seem like impending doom, but I hope it doesn't come to that. After having strikes in Hollywood for so long, I know that both IATSE and Teamsters are ready for work to start ramping back up so that everyone can get back to work. I do hope that the leadership takes this into consideration, but I also hope that if they are unhappy with current contracts that it will not be a deterrent to not voice concerns. While I am not completely caught up on the current contracts, I would assume that they cannot be too unhappy since neither IATSE or Teamsters decided to strike while SAG and WGA were striking previously. As somebody who has worked in and cares deeply for the IATSE union (and all unions), I do hope that any grievances with contracts will be expressed to ensure that all members feel happy with their working conditions, wages, and job security. Both IATSE and the Teamsters are valuable unions who provide the majority of labor in Hollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole, so a strike from them is hopefully something the companies are wanting to avoid.
