I think hologram performances are a really cool concept that probably uses some very interesting technology, but I do not think they are a good idea in all cases. For a band like KISS that is no longer physically performing but has had a very long and impressive career, I think it is a great idea that will allow their legacy to live on. However, cases like this are the ones where it is primarily a good idea. I do not think younger artists who are still living and capable of performing should consider this because it will take out a lot of the magic and spectacle that comes with a live performance. It will also allow musicians to take shortcuts and not have to be as skilled, and I think real live performances are a vital part of being a musician. In cases like this, however, where the musician or band can't perform, I love this idea and support it fully.
