Companies Can Now Build Their Own AI Models for Video with Runway and Getty Images

nofilmschool.com: After a few dormant months for AI news (at least compared to the first few months of the year), it feels like the major AI industry players are once again in a back-and-forth arms race unveiling new projects, partnerships and technologies left and right.

My general attitude toward artificial intelligence (with exceptions) is that it generally shouldn't be used if it is going to take away jobs. This new technology is most certainly going to take away jobs from many creative people, and I simply do not think that the payoff is worth it. The main benefit of companies being able to build their own AI models is that they will spend less money and time creating video content. While this is nice, I think it is in no way worth many video editors losing jobs, and creative jobs eventually becoming less valuable. Additionally, I just don't think AI is capable of making creative work to the same quality as human beings. From what I have seen, something always feel off about AI content, and it doesn't really produce new ideas, instead only reuses and reformats previosuly created ones. Overall, I see the rise of AI technology as a very worrying thing that should be watched carefully.
