Holiday Shows in NYC 2023
New York Theater: While there are always new shows in December (see December 2023 New York Theater Openings), the heart of theater during the month is in many ways the annual holiday shows — plays, ballets, operas, concerts, musicals, burlesques, and hybrid entertainments — some of which have reappeared each December for decades. Some are bracingly expensive; most are not. Some are surprisingly raunchy; most are family fare. Some are so popular that they are already sold out (maybe you can plan early for next year.)

I am so grateful for this article because it gives me so much more to do when I come home this winter break! I am from New Jersey and since I’m only a 1 hour drive to the city, this gives me SO MUCH to do with my family and friends! During the 1st week of January, my friends and I are planning on doing a long weekend trip to NYC and since we were looking for things to do, I think this is such an awesome list to follow. What I love is the amount of options on this list. There are plays, musicals, dance performances, drag shows, etc and I think that is so super cool. I definitely want to try out the drag show. Another thing I’ve always wanted to see because its such a holiday classic is the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. I was supposed to see them a few years back but never got to make the date.
