5 Million Light Bulbs Illuminate Japan Flower Garden

mymodernmet.com: From now until February 2024, the Ashikaga Flower Park in Japan will be a spectacular display of lights. Over 5 million LED bulbs have been used to create a garden of glowing wisteria, cherry blossoms, and other flora.

This is a very innovative way to extend the operating time for an attraction that is primarily open spring and summer. Now, all seasons are available for this outdoor garden to attract guests. I appreciate that the designers of this park are doing not only a fall theme, but will transition to a Christmas theme in December followed by a winter/valentine theme in January and February. They have really found a way to stretch the LED fixtures to continue attracting folks as seasons change. Scrolling through the pictures, these gardens will present a large photographing opportunity which will only increase awareness via social media influencers. I also like that they didn’t just recreate flowers, but added structures such as castles and ships, creating not just a garden but an entire fantasy world out of LED. Another positive aspect of this attraction is the range of audience it will attract. All ages will enjoy such a spectacle.

Wow! This is very interesting. That is a lot of lights. Something I found interesting is that all the pictures are from the nighttime to better see the LED lights, which makes sense. However, I am curious to know what it looks like in the daylight. The Japanese gardens are supposedly incredibly breathtaking and beautiful and I hope that they didn’t cover all of that beauty with 5 million LED bulbs. Don’t get me wrong, it is incredibly impressive and the programming that it must have taken is incredible. It also does look very beautiful and very clearly a spectacle. I am definitely going to go look up pictures of this garden after this because I really am quite curios about what it looks like on its own without the 5 million LED lights. Not that I am saying it looks bad, it doesn’t, but I do what to know what it looks like naturally because I am sure that it just as beautiful, if not more.
