I find it crazy how advanced speakers and sound systems are becoming lately. The L class is a really good example of this. It blew my mind to read about all of the features integrated into just one speaker cabinet. Not only does it have superior engineering put into it, but it has built-in DANTE and comes with an app for a computer or phone. It’s sort of strange to see sound come out with innovations (or make things standard) that are evident parallels to lighting equipment, like DANTE and DMX. These speakers against a basic passive speaker are like a conventional Source 4 against an LED Source 4. I was also impressed to see that the LA100s can be deployed by just one person; in my experience, setting up a line array is always a two-person job (at least). I’m really excited to see where sound technology will go in the future.
