I have had the privilege of watching theater companies in the St .Louis evolve and develop into more inclusive incubators of art and creativity. In the professional St. Louis Theater world the Rep had definitely been leading that charge and I believe the hiring white as the reps new artistic director is definitely a step in the right direction. The Reps season looks great this year and if it were a different year I most likely would have seen or been a part of some of the shows in this season. The idea of a more active producer in the creative process has been happening in St. Louis community theater for some time and I am excited to see what more active producers will create at the rep. St. Louis has been pulling in more artists that are not local to the area and I am excited to see how this will shape the art in St.Louis.
