Award-Winning Design Team Set For Broadway-Bound ‘The Wiz’
Deadline: The Wiz is getting ready for the road to Broadway with an award-winning design team, including Oscar-winning Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler and Emmy-winning Watchmen costume designer Sharen Davis.
The design team for ‘The Wiz’ is absolutely impressive. Although I don’t know any of them on a deeper level, I was certainly impressed when reading about what they’ve achieved so far. I really like the design of ‘Black Panther’ and I’m so proud of Hannah Beachler for her Academy Award win. What also amazed me when reading this article was how many people have previous experiences outside of theatre. Quite a few of them have worked in TV and film, music videos, concerts, and other areas of entertainment. I always think it’s so cool to have experience in multiple disciplines and it definitely shows how capable and high-achieving they are. I do wonder what their thoughts are on the different work styles for each area. I can only imagine that working on TV and film would be very different from working on a Broadway show that’s going on a tour.
