I see this as so inspiring from two very different perspectives. My first perspective comes from the fact that my mother works as a Grant writer for a small college in central Virginia so I know how huge of a win this grant must be for the writers and for the whole administrative team at the Prime Stage Theatre. My second perspective on this comes from the fact that I am Jewish and have relatives whose stories are very similar to the one described in the article about the play that won the grant. I always thought it was the most incredible and beautiful thing in the world to have gone through those horrors, those atrocities and still come out with a belief in G-d, family, love, and the goodness of other people. Especially in a time when hate crimes against Jews are on the rise and many members of my community are afraid, I think this story that that they are telling at this theatre is so incredibly important.
