Broadway backwards has been one of my favorite events since I was in middle school. It was an event that I saw so many queer people participating in and it was still when I was in musical theater and I had a dream of performing on that stage with everyone. The reason I love Broadway backwards is because of how it celebrates the queer community and Broadway itself. The fact that they have raised so much money for Broadway cares equity fight aids, and it has become one of the most anticipated events of the year I think is really important because when it started in 2006, it was not like that. I really truly love this event because of the platform it gives the LGBTQ members of the Broadway community and is a celebration. I think that Broadway Backwards is also really important for young people because it gives them a chance to see Broadway performers perform on youtube, that is something that really inspired me at a young age.
