The Adelaide Festival announces its 2023 program

limelightmagazine.com.au: Ruth Mackenzie has had a busy week. Just four days into her new engagement as Artistic Director of the Adelaide Festival, she has already announced next year’s program along with new Chief Executive Kath M Mainland. The 2023 program was initiated by former Joint Artistic Directors Rachel Healy and Neil Armfield, and together with Mainland, Mackenzie will present the program before curating the 2024–2026 Festivals.

I really love Hadestown so much, I have seen it three times and I love it so much. I love the show for multiple reasons, one of them being the set. The set is so amazing how it can really bring you into the space of the show. How they move the walls and create the different set changes is so amazing. The reason I am bringing this up is because I love the tour so much because they are able to still do this with the set the same that they do with the broadway set. That is what I find so cool about tours is when they can also replicate the Broadway show. Frozen did that with their set and props and I remember being so impressed. Hadestown is a show that brings audience members totally into the show and immersed. I personally am so excited to see the show next week!

This was actually a really interesting article to read! I had no idea that this festival even existed and it is amazing that they put on 52 events just over 17 days. It is really neat that all of these acts will come from over eighteen countries! I think that this is a really interesting perspective coming from a new artistic director. I would also really like to know about the management of this festival because I can only imagine that it would be a huge undertaking. I would have so many questions for the production managers of this show and the festival. I think these events sound really interesting and I would love to attend this festival! It sounds like it’s a really accessible event for kids and the general public to attend and enjoy. I think I would like to look into what the festival has done in the past and how it has evolved since it was founded only six years ago.

This festival is truly fascinating and exiting. The compose of over 52 events over 17days and all put together for the best enjoyment, the amount of time and energy put into organizing and putting these events together is impressive and huge. In addition, the fact how these events and plan has been announced 4 days after her place in position is not only scary but also impressive. I’m really excited about this festival and I’m really glad that I’m able to learn about it now so I can plan time and if there is a potential chance where I could be in the audience seat for one of them. I have been interested in Russian style art for a long period of time as I have not been exposed to this style of art as much as other European centered style of art so I’m curious to learn more about it in the future.

this is reall interesting. I think it is possible and most likely that she did some pre planning when she got the job but before it was publicly announced. What a power move to present this plan only a dew days after being offically at work. The amount of events they put on in 17 days is insane. It makes me wonder how sustainable of a practice they run. Do they hire enough people so people do not get burnt out over those days? For all the wonderful things they promote, I truly hope they do.
