Klein Bluetooth Jobsite Earbuds AESEB1
Pro Tool Reviews: Klein tells us that one of the main causes of hearing loss is loud sounds and exposure to noisy environments like construction sites. To combat this, Klein has released the Bluetooth Jobsite Earbuds. These earbuds not only provide passive hearing protection, but they also provide balanced and clean sound when streaming audio.

These earbuds seem so cool! Being able to listen to music while you work is definitely a plus. Even in our scene shop when we play music through the speakers, the second we go to start to drill, cut, or sand something you don't hear anything. I think that this would be great especially when working alone to pass the time. However, one thing that the article did not mention that is a huge concern of mine is how many dB the audio plays at. My concern would be that they would play the audio at a high dB in order to override all the noise going on in the shop or environment, that it in turns damages your ears. Something that is not taken seriously enough is that there should be limits to the dB that headphones or earphones can go up to. Listening to music for long periods of time when it is going directly into your ear can be extremely harmful and lead to long-term damages. Especially when working at a shop to have ear protection from power tools, I would be concerned that the user would play the music much too loudly that they are damaging their ears too.
Ok great headphones that prevent hearing loss. Other than that? I see nothing else. Firstly, their run time is five hours and recharge is 2 hours. That’s hugely problematic. A shift is longer than five hours and there's no way a person has a two hour break. Secondly, taking calls. One, it’s great you can take calls but will the person on the other end be able to hear you over everything else that's going on? Not to mention should you even be taking a call as that is likely distracting? Then we get into the third issue. If you can hear the person they would need to be pretty noise canceling, that seems highly dangerous. Should people be listening to music or taking calls while working? How are they aware of their surroundings? Not to mention these earbuds are quite slim. How will others be aware they have them in?
