LightFair Blog: We are proud to shine the spotlight on some of the best and the brightest illuminators, thought leaders, inventors, impact makers and influencers shaping the course of architectural and commercial lighting – friends, colleagues and lighting veterans you may have seen at previous LightFairs and are likely to spot at LightFair 2022 in Las Vegas this June 19-23.

Yay women in lighting! It brings me so much joy to see so much representation off stage. As most technical aspects of theatre are, lighting is a male-dominated industry so being able to dit down and read about some of the women who have made an impact in their field is important to me. I know virtually nothing about lighting so a lot of this article is lost on me. But I do of course always appreciate an article when its purpose is to hype up women. I really appreciated the use of photos throughout this article. I think that it is always important to tie a face to the name especially for representation's sake especially. I can also always get on board with one of the final quotes this article offers, “thank you for lighting the way and making our world brighter.” Without lighting our art would lack dimension and depth. Lighting can be used to create intense emotions and it is absolutely one of my favorite parts about theatre.
