Pay Equity

HowlRound Theatre Commons: The theatre industry—both non-profit and for-profit—is a system where artists are compensated as little as possible, pay inequity is systemic, and there is widespread disparity in labor support. It is the system artists work within and the one in which administrators run their companies. But this system is not something many in either group particularly like or want to maintain. The industry has everything to gain by centering pay equity and taking steps to enact it.
