I think any resources to help with vaccine rollout are incredible. At the same time, I have seen, from personal experience, how much of a challenge it can be to even get an appointment. Cities might have hundreds of appointments available, but the sites are not prepared for the traffic and are continually crashing. My grandmother does not even own a computer and was told to make an appointment online. In New York State, the first eligible group for the vaccine, outside of healthcare professionals, was those who are 75 and older. Yet they were told to make appointments online. A phone hotline was later added but it was one number for the whole state and getting through was a challenge. My grandparents have since all gotten the first dose of the vaccine, but it was very intense to try and get those appointments. My extended family was constantly communicating which sites were online and which had availability or which had crashed. As much as it is helpful to have more vaccine clinics, there needs to be improvement to the organizational infrastructure to make the appointments. Either way, it is great that the locations to get the vaccine are expanding. I hope this deal also helped IATSE members find more income that they were otherwise lacking due to the pandemic. I hope this also means that IATSE members who are helping are eligible to receive the vaccine, because I know that some states are vaccinating those who are helping with distribution and administering the vaccines.
