Arts Organizations Celebrate Biden-Harris Victory, Call for Continued Fight for Relief
Playbill: The theatre community at large rallied behind a potential, then likely, victory for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as Election Day 2020 turned into Election Week. As news outlets officially made the call November 7, a number of arts organizations, unions, and advocacy coalitions weighed in, conveying both celebration and a rallying cry for continued support for arts relief in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What a great time to be a theatre worker and a union supporter today in Biden's America. I was overjoyed with the level of happiness and cheerfulness coming out of the world on Saturday. It feels like vindication for the gloom and the doom that happened just about four years ago and it truly is a new door and a new page for this country and thats something that is worth fighting for. The Biden Harris relief plan hasn't forgotten about theater workers and I think that they understand that this is a full industry that is in great need of unemployment and assistance through these times. For once in this pandemic, I feel like things are finally looking up. This country is finally going to return to a place where communities are able to thrive because of our government, not in spite of it. I'm feeling better about going into the industry now that I know I'll receive some government subsidies.
