2020 Holiday Tool Gift Guide

Tool Box Buzz: Every year we put out a holiday tool gift guide to help you pick out a gift for that hard to buy for tradesperson in your life or maybe a gift for yourself. All of the tools in this year’s guide are ones that are in my job site kit or in my shop. I can personally recommend all of these because I use them regularly.

Right off the bat I have to commend this article for selecting such a variety of tools to include on this holiday gift guide. With the holidays coming up, of course I am starting to look around at what to get my family for the holiday. While not many people in my family would appreciate tools for Christmas, I know I would, so this list actually gave me a few ideas. I love how it includes that bosch laser disto, while it is not a tool that I use frequently, there is simply nothing like it when you find yourself needing one. I thought the knives and tape measures at the beginning were a great way to start off because those are the two things that go missing most frequently when working in a construction environment. While I do question the reliability of some of the brands on this list, it is clear that this is meant for hobbyists and perhaps finding a half-decent tool on a budget is where the real hard work comes in.

I am pretty sure that the FatMax measuring tape is just a default add on every wish list and gift guide. It is weird because I also believe it is like a standard or first bought item for every person which also means its usually the most beaten up measuring tape everyone owns. So Why is it a constant gift guide… to people really like this tape measure, its practically as basic as you can get. However, and side rant apart, I think the article does a great job of giving a variety of useful tools and accessories. I also like that the article has some smaller gifts like the box cutters that could be used in things like white elephants or stockings, etc. It is a really quality and all around guide. These are all of course standard tools in scene shops so it feels like a waste to have some of these unless its for a home or diy creator. There could be way better items on there if this is meant for a professional.
