Wow!! I am completely blown away by these paper sculpture wigs!! I love the idea of the wigs being inspired by gigantic sea monsters that would be talked about amongst pirates. If you look closely there are so many details within the wigs. The first pictures shows a paper sculpture that features swords, some kind of large mansion, accordion fans, and antlers. Others include pirate ships, lobster claws, and butterflies! The detail in these sculptures is absolutely astonishing. The artists created their most recent collection for dolce and gabbana. I really like how the paper sculptures are monochromatic because it emphasizes their incredible detail and depth. The artists who created these wigs also created beautiful paper dresses. The patterns in the paper are so crisp and cool. I wonder how they create their garments. I wonder if they make them with some kind of laser cutter or if they are hand cut.

These wigs are absolutely stunning. My jaw dropped looking through each photo at the particular detail that went into each aspect. The photos alone carry the article but I do wish they included a section explaining Asya Kozina’s process in more detail. There was obviously a lot of thought and precision put into each wig and there had to be a specific method for how these wigs were approached. I have been noticing more and more fashion designers toy with the use of paper for their work and it has always been fascinating with each piece. It goes to show how no matter what material is used, it is all in the skill of the artist and the creativity of the idea which pushes a design to its fullest potential. Kozina’s wigs have given me inspiration to push myself with my work and it reminds me to keep an open mind about how fashion can be designed.
