This is so incredibly cool and inspiring! I hope this past weekend the festival was a great success and will catch the attention of others around the country. I am so glad the University of Pittsburgh encouraged and supported such a large scale event to happen on campus, and to be so transparent and unapologetic regarding their support of the Black student body. Hopefully the events will promote an educational and fun look into another culture for other members of the student body. I know it is so valuable to be able to connect to other people who go through similar struggles as you, who look like you and can relate to you on such a basic yet deep and unique level. I know the campus is 70% white, which is a very much white majority, and only 5% Black or African American. I am happy the event was on as such a large scale as it was, even though such a small amount of students identify with this group.
