This article sits at a very complicated political time. Though I do believe a lot of benefits will come from Taiwan becoming a new leader in producing film, and I certainly hope they reap a lot of benefits, I do worry about the political implications that this may cause in an already harsh political climate between these two countries. I think the film industry that moves to Taiwan will find a lot of satisfaction in not having such a death grip censorship, however with that their movies also won’t be able to be streamed in China so they are losing a market. China will continue to go on creating these really high budget films because the quality of their films must be so great that the idea of this vicious censorship can be thought about in a less significant way, essentially quality over content. China’s censorship policies are not to be overlooked and ignored as the implications of this censorship has devastating results on their own nation and is spreading further out into the rest of the word with China’s rising influence.
