Trump Washes Hands of Kennedy Center ‘Deficit’ After Takeover
www.thedailybeast.com: President Donald Trump attempted to wash his hands of the “massive deficit” plaguing the storied cultural institution that he has attempted to rename after himself.
Trump, 79, passed the blame for the plummeting sales at the Kennedy Center.
“People don’t realize that The Trump Kennedy Center suffered massive deficits for many years and, like everything else, I merely came in to save it and, if possible, make it far better than ever before!”

In following up with The Kennedy Center situation, this article was nothing less than inevitable. The situation with The Kennedy Center, as a Washington DC area resident, has steadily gotten worse and worse since Trump’s takeover. From The Kennedy Center employees willingly leaving due to the extreme changes in workplace policy, to theatre audiences choosing to revoke memberships or abstain entirely from The Kennedy Center, and even renowned artists and performance groups pulling out of scheduled performances out of protest, the downfall economically was evident. It goes to show just how unpopular Trump’s cultural agenda is with the artistic community and how when it comes to artistic institutions which are meant to provide meaningful entertainment to audiences, values matter to an immense degree. My only hope for the future of The Kennedy Center is that this event hasn’t marked a point of no return, and that someday The Kennedy Center will be remade into serving the purpose of an artistic institution for the people, not the elite.
