TikTok Launches New Entertainment Ad Formats at Sundance for Streamers
www.hollywoodreporter.com: With its deal to have its U.S. operation acquired by a consortium of U.S. investors just days away, TikTok is making an aggressive move to court Hollywood, planning an expansive presence at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, and with plans to release a pair of new advertising formats designed specifically for entertainment companies.

I was just talking to one of my friends about this very topic, and how recently or tiktok fyp had entirely consisted of either ads or AI content. I have slowly seen this shift happen since about last summer but recently it has been especially bad. I had come to the conclusion that many many tiktok creators have turned their platforms into protesting platforms and tiktok had very heavy filters on what political content actually makes it onto peoples feeds which is why feeds have become so ridiculous. Since the popularization of AI I have noticed that people have now resorted to it instead of just using a little bit of brain power and I don't really understand why… Yesterday a video came up on my feed and it was an AI ad of someone filling up a cup of water… Are we really getting so lazy that we need AI to fill online cups of water for us rather than just videoing yourself doing it? Needless to say, this article doesn't really shock me but it does sadden me, I think it will probably be healthy for me to delete tiktok for a while though.
