‘This was so scary, guys.’ – A Job Seeker Showed What Happened When AI Conducted Her Job Interview
TwistedSifter: The AI interviewer continued, “Thank you for taking the time to interview today. As a sales associate at Club Pilates working the front desk, your main tasks include reaching out to leads, inviting them for an introductory Pilates class, and guiding them through our membership options to sign them up.”

Yeah I think the idea of interviews done by artificial intelligence definitely feels like we are approaching a dystopian future. But I am also not surprised at this by any means, I mean I feel like ever since the internet became the primary means of applying for jobs there have “courses” and "strategies" about hiding texts in resumes and stuff just to push it through whatever algorithm or something reading your resume. I feel like interviews conducted by artificial intelligence are just a logical progression so that companies can maximize their profits by not having to pay people to interview applicants. I think artificial intelligence will continue to be used as a way to not pay people even if it does a poor job because companies will always prioritize profit for their shareholders over their employees and performance. It reminds me of these bill boards I used to see that went “Stop hirring humans / Hire Ava, the AI BDR” for the company Artisan. The whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
