There are a lot of horrible things happening in the world and while a lot of people could be doing more to help, I am always happy to hear about the good things that are happening and that people are doing. Broadway has a lot of its own stuff to work on, but Broadway Cares is a brilliant organization that has done a lot of good for the community. The LGBTQ+ is constantly under attack, but theater should be a safe space for us and Broadway, as a company, is doing a decent amount to keep that true. To be honest, I had never heard of Broadway Bares before (I had heard of Broadway cares) and I will be doing more research on it later. I am glad that they are doing this to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS but I will say that this event should not just be for those who can “afford” it. I hope that in the future they have Broadway Bares types of events that are more affordable and open to more of the public.
