Learning How To Work With LED Walls feat. ROE Visual

nofilmschool.com: No matter how you learn to use a piece of technology, it's important to not only get hands-on time with your tools but to get direction from experts in the field. Even if you're just using YouTube and Google, expertise is the difference between education and mastery. But what happens when you need to learn how to use technologies that may be cost-prohibitive? How would you learn how to shoot in a volume or with an LED wall?

In my opinion, the concepts in this article can be applied to basically any field in the world. The idea of matching people who are newer to the profession with someone who is more experienced is not a new concept. We see it all the time in fields like medicine. Interns are paired with residents and so on to further enhance their learning objectives and goals. I think this partnership is even more important with new technology like an LED wall because so many people are unexperienced with it and from what I have seen it is not an incredibly intuitive piece of technology. I do think LED walls make different elements of theatre and films lives easier while making some harder. For instance, a scenic department’s life may become easier because one piece of scenery can be used for so many different locations. On the other hand, I can envision and LED wall making the lives of a lighting department hard because I have seen that LED walls can be tricky when trying to then their intensity down and how do you balance this with other lighting instrument to achieve a final desired look
