S.F. Fringe Festival shows a venue’s closure doesn’t mean the end of theater

Datebook: In December, she shut down Exit Theatre’s Eddy Street venue — a decades-strong hub for small, boundary-pushing theater — but emphatically without closing Exit Theatre the company. That means she still produces Exit Theatre work in a 35-seat venue in Arcata, in Humboldt County, and mounts the 32nd annual San Francisco Fringe Festival, albeit on a smaller scale. Fifteen titles rotate on just one stage at sister Tenderloin venue the Exit on Taylor.
