'waves of code' light installation explores media reflexivity in the digital age

www.designboom.com: Young media artist Liu Jiayu presents her latest artistic practice titled Waves of Code, an artwork generated after a discussion between the creative and ChatGPT. The artist’s research and practice in light and projection media over almost a decade have led to the realization that technology now shapes our experiences, serving as a somatosensory interface and main medium for information consumption.

Even just the images of the art is breathtaking; I really wish I could experience this exhibit in person. One thing I am curious about thought, is the extent of Liu Jiayu's use of ChatGPT. The article only mentions that the artwork was generated after a discussion between the artist and ChatGPT but I wonder if it only served as inspiration or if parts of the exhibit were also derived from collaboration with ChatGPT. It is truly strange that collaborating with an online AI chat bot is even a feasible idea; just one year ago it would not have been (at least as widely accepted). I wish this article talked even more about the artist's intended meaning behind the installation. Two brief paragraphs does not feel like enough for a topic as complex as human-technology interaction.
