The Tartan: Blair Underwood was forced to leave Carnegie Mellon halfway through his junior year for financial reasons, but just two years later he was starring on L.A. Law, one of the biggest shows on television.

Underwood, soon to co-star in the Netflix series Self Made, has played a wide array of characters, with many spotlighting African Americans in roles where they have been historically underrepresented.
