Growing up in the bible belt, the view of mega-churches with thousands in attendance every Sunday was a common one. While personally, I never attended church on a regular basis, I had many friends that did and the production value that these churches would put into their worship was astonishing. I had the opportunity to know many people that worked these production jobs in mega churches and where I think this article misses the point is the fact that a megachurch pays these people very well. The article seemed to make it out that production members felt called upon by a divine power to do the job, which may be true for some, but it is definitely not true for a lot of people in that industry. I just read an article that analyzed the idea of choosing a job for the money, and I think that is what is happening the majority of the time at these churches.
