ScenicG – Painting Workshops For Everyone
Rosco Spectrum: I’ve been developing the ScenicG Workshops over the last year to help any and all find their creative abilities. My hope is that, by providing proper instruction on scenic painting technique, the ScenicG Workshops will build future scenic artists. With the help of Rosco, I’ve been able to enhance the ScenicG Workshop experience by providing thorough use of their products as I share my scenic art methods and techniques

I found this article to be really interesting because I have also attended some workshops for scenic painting in highschool that explored similar concepts and techniques. I didn’t realize how universal these techniques were; I always thought they were taught in highschool because they were less complex and easier for highschool students to successfully do. But the brick texture on the wood is actual a piece that I put in my portfolio! Seeing the wood graining technique was completely new to me, though, and I thought it was so creative and simple how the tools were used to paint a very successful grain. The second day workshops introduced mediums I at least have never seen. The author talks about using Rosco CrystalGel to created “elevated wood grain textures,” and I’m super interested in working with this treatment to discover its effects. I’m excited to see what techniques we learn in the paint shop here to see if there are any similarities!
