Janice Min: Harvey Weinstein is “emblematic” of much larger issue

This article has given yet another unique, good, and yet so disheartening perspective on the Harvey Weinstein case and allegations that have come to light in the past couple of weeks. This idea that Janice Min brought up in her interview with Bill Maher of secrecy over sexual assault and harassment is so true. It is somehow still taboo to talk about sex, even in the most clinical and legal of ways, even with so many allegations over well-known men assaulting women. There is no right for secrecy over rape and sexual assault. These should be topics that everyone is comfortable (to some extent) with talking about, because if that is the case, then maybe more people would be educated enough not to act in these highly horrific ways. And, as a last note, our president NEEDS to say something about this! As an assaulter himself, I'm not sure what he could say about this topic that isn't incredibly hypocritical, but come on, Trump!
