Dystopia has arrived. We are touring, shopping, and eating “more than 20 themed food and beverage choices” at the Capital? The whole point of this series was about the uneven distribution of wealth and starvation in certain areas of the world. By making a theme park in one of the most expensive places in the world, they seem to be saying that they want to be or already are the Capital of Panam- who cares about the rest of the world? They are having miners from District 12 putting on a show?
This whole idea is the antithesis of the moral of the story. Did Suzanne Collins sign off on this or did she sell all her rights? I tried to google if she had weighed in on the theme park and couldn’t find any interviews. I wonder how she feels about the theme park.

This is really surprising that a new theme park is based off of The Hunger Games. The whole story of the society that Suzanne Collins created is about people crave power and exerting it while it causes so many others heartache and suffering. The books circle around an event in which children are forced to murder other children. This does not at all lend it self to a theme park. I think this came from people wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the books and movie franchise. But honestly, even as a fan of both, I would never want to go to a theme park based on this, and I think others will share the thought. I hope that this attraction does not do well, and closes down soon, because it is literally showing off the mindset of those in power in the world of Panem and letting people embrace it.

This is honestly so exciting, I have to disagree strongly with other people who tend to hate on this amusement park idea, mainly because I have loved the world of the Hunger Games since I was a young middle schooler. The idea to create a theme park that incorporates the world of Panem is something that is in fact in high demand right now and has a market and following that people around the world can benefit from. In a city thats thriving on its architectural prestige and reputation for innovation, this is the exact sort of capitalistic gain it needs. I predict that this attraction will make tons of money and prove to be a hit among people all over the world, I'm just glad that this model has been made, and I'm just waiting for it to succeed and come to the U.S sooner than later because when it does people will love this.
