This resource is an incredible find for anyone who is interested or involved at all in costume design and production! Oftentimes finding historical patterns forces you to wildly varied sources, expensive purchases, or even making your own from scratch based on other sources. And once you find the pattern, it isnt always easy or even feasible to resize it or modify it for your actor or actress or the particular design quirk or motif you want. Having a database like this not only saves time, but saves money by allowong you to use them for free. This is such a generous example of how people can help others but providing the resources to help them, and how people's passions can lead to awesome things. I'm definitely bookmarking this website for later use, and sharing it with anyone I can find who could use it!

Working with many costumers, I often find that one of the most significant issues they tend to experience is finding that exact pattern in order to create the period for the show. Often what I see happening is getting something as close as I can and then modify it based on what they know from there education. This resource, however, gives them a wide array of possibilities if we can pull from Oakland original designing and then when we could actually create the garments to be worn. This is the type of resource that the more people know about it, the better that it will become. I will undoubtedly share this with many of my cousin friends as to the fact that I think it will go a long way in helping their process.
