I LOVE ESCAPE ROOMS!!!! I don’t know why I had never taken the time to investigate if Pittsburgh/the-greater-area-of had any, so I am glad that this popped up this week. This also makes me want to go on a rabbit hole about how escape rooms came to be, and their rise in popularity. Especially since I cannot imagine you making much of a profit for them. I have to imagine they are incredibly expensive to run; re-stocking props, general maintenance, commissioning someone in using their storyline, the nature of it being a space that can only be occupied by some people for a relatively long time, having someone run it; there’s a lot that goes into it. I’m no designer, but I think it would be fun getting involved in working on one of these. The set has to feel new and used and evoke some kind of emotion, especially for people to get immersed quickly so they can start figuring out their way out as soon as possible.
