I think I must not have a full understanding of what the laws are, but the employer seems to be arguing that because the the subscription manager is not a content creator, they shouldn’t be allowed to have union representation which - legality aside - seems like it’s not the place of the employer to tell people who can and cannot be represented by the union. Not having supervisors and interns is one thing, but this seems like an overstep. I’m also curious about the weirdness about when the papers are delivered, not that it truly matters. I’m also not remotely surprised that the labor relations board went ahead and cleared the vote and I’m confused as to why the company petitioned for that because it just seems like a way of slowing down the process. Narrowing the scope of the union seems like an easy way for employers to take the teeth out of a collective bargaining agreement.
